ANNE COUILLARD Anne Couillard, at 96 years of age, passed away on November 10, 2016, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ever so loved, she left us peacefully at the Tuxedo Villa Care Home. Although Anne did not have children of her own, a significant part of her life involved acting as a mother and grandmother. Anne became a part of the Wightman family over 26 years ago, when she became a Nanny for Katherine Wightman's three children, Jade Ellement (Wightman), Mikaela and Luke Wightman. Anne quickly became an integral part of the family, and a lifelong bond was formed. She never missed a family party, Christmas concert or opportunity to spend time with the children. Anne always took the best care of her "grandchildren", taking them on many "pic-in-cs", bus rides, playing hide-and-seek, making them endless supplies of cookies, and having many sleepovers at the Wightman house, where the children would always wake up to the smell of pancakes. Anne consistently brought love and happiness to her family. Anne is survived by her dear "grandchildren", Jade, Mikaela and Luke; "great-grandchildren", Rose and Nora Ellement, and Katherine Wightman, whom was the daughter she never had; her brother Mel; and her sisters, Marian, Jean, Sylvia, Irene and Isabelle. To those close to her, Anne was a confidant, a support system and a source of joy. Her strength, independence, generosity and especially her strong will has ultimately touched the lives of all that knew her. It is with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our "Gramma Anna". She now rests in peace with the love of her life, Harvey, and her favourite dog, Cloud.
