RICHARD (RICK) CAMPBELL KIPPEN It is with profound sadness, the family announces that Richard (Rick) Campbell Kippen passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 67 years. Remaining to forever cherish Richard's memory are his beloved wife Connie of 17 years of marriage; his children, Leianne (Craig) Wood and Leigh (Joan Sinclair) Kippen and Connie's children, Andrea Dixon, Jacqueline (Ian) Hillmer and Trinda (Shane Blatz) Maxwell. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Oliver, Paris, Gabriel, Owen, Myah, Julia and Lena; sister Leslie (Len) Jackson; five brothers, Jim (Marilyn) Kippen, Terry (Beth) Kippen, Robert (Lorette) Kippen, Rod (Michele) Kippen and Darren (Sheri) Kippen. Richard will also be missed by his nieces and nephews and growing number of great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Donalda Kippen. Richard was an incredibly intelligent man who made family his number one priority. He and his brothers successfully started-up, managed and co-owned Elmhurst Drywall, Elmhurst Gypsum Floors and Gunnlaugson Spray-On Systems. Rick was always the first to lend a hand or offer support to anyone who needed it. His favorite place was the cabin near Lac du Bonnet, where he'd be found out on the boat, on the waverunners, on his snowmobile or just puttering around working on one of his many projects. Richard enjoyed travelling the world with Connie and their friends or family; be it to Europe, or going on cruises or staying at various resorts in the Caribbean. On Friday, January 6, 2017, Rick's Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, with Rick's sister-in-law, Rev. Dr. Lesley Fox, officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Creek Cemetery, Elm Creek, Manitoba. "In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or in the form of time to a volunteer organization". • My condolences to the Kippen family and Len Jackson. Rick and I worked in competing firms, but Rick was more like a good neighbour. He treated everyone with respect and was a consummate gentleman. He worked hard to improve the lives of those he worked with and for his community. • Rick and his family lived across the road from our farm. We rode to school together and spent many after-school hours together with Leslie, Jim, Rick, Terry and Bob. We were very sorry when they moved from our area so consequently I did not know Rodney and Darren. My condolences to Leslie and all the brothers and your entire family. So sorry that Rick became sick and passed. May he Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Muriel (McLaren) Piebiak (school friend, from the 50's) on: Jan 04, 2017
