Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE LYTLE Born July 31, 1917, Jessie Elizabeth Lytle died on January 2, 2017, six months shy of her 100th birthday. Jessie lived an extraordinary life in an era when it was unusual for a woman to be unmarried and independent. She worked as a secretary at McCurdy Supply for nearly 40 years, travelled the world on her vacations, and was a beloved family member and friend to all of us. Jessie was a long time member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, active in many capacities in the church over the years. She loved to arrange flowers for the alter; she assisted with the counting of the money from collection, and she helped with the church outreach to the less fortunate. Not having children of her own, her nieces and nephews were her children. We were so lucky to have her love and attention all of the years of her life. Nothing made a holiday special like an Auntie Jessie visit. Jessie was the most positive person that any of us have ever encountered. She laughed easily and often; when she was present, everyone was happier. Jessie suffered many losses in her long life, including the loss of all her four cherished siblings, Margaret, Edward, Hudson and Clifford. She is survived by her close friend and sister-in-law Adele Lytle, Adele's sister Eleanor Kelm, and her nine adoring nieces and nephews - Debbie and Sandy Lytle, Diane Overton and Robert Steele, Linda and Greg Lytle and Lorraine Rohs, and Hudson and Roland Lytle. The great-nieces and nephews were also her pride and joy - Meg, Alex, Patty, Michael, Jessalyn, Richard, Petria, Kaitlin and Jenny. Special thanks to staff at Middlechurch Home for your loving care and attention to Jessie. A memorial service to celebrate Jessie's life will be held on Friday, January 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Graham Avenue and Donald Street (across from the MTS Centre), Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Jessie was a treasured employee with McCurdy Supply. She was honest, hardworking, and a pleasure to work with. I'm so sorry that I didn't hear of her passing earlier. My condolences to all her family. Memories, all pleasant and positive will be with me for life. - Posted by: Wilmer Ens (Former employer and friend) on: Aug 19, 2017

I have so many memories of Auntie Jessie-while not a family member myself, as Lorraine's friend I got to adopt Auntie Jessie as my relative, too. She served as such a positive role model for dynamic, independent and strong women. All of the Nicholls clan send our thoughts and prayers to Jessie's family. She was definitely one of a kind! - Posted by: Jane Nicholls (Family friend) on: Jan 05, 2017

I also called Aunt Jessie my aunt (great aunt). She was childhood friends with my grandmother Kathleen Welwood (nee Gardner) I will cherish the times that I got the spend with her in Toronto when she came to visit. She was always laughing and made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. She lived an inspirational life and I am so lucky to have known her. I will always remember you Auntie Jessie. - Posted by: Greg Houselander () on: Jan 04, 2017
