CONNIE KIST Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on December 28, 2016, with her family by her side at the age of 81. Mom was born Connie Bodnar, on December 24, 1935 in Portage la Prairie, MB. She was employed as a child care worker for many years and volunteered countless hours as a swim instructor for preschool children at the North YMCA. Mom loved to spend time at the cottage, sitting in the porch with her glass of rye and water and dancing and singing to her country music with the love of her life and best friend, dad. Mom was always working on puzzles, tending to her large garden and cooking amazing meals. Mom's greatest joy in life was her family (she spoiled us rotten!!). She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren and has left us with so many loving memories of fun and good times which will last us all a lifetime. Mom was a very loving, compassionate and kind woman who was loved by all who knew her. Mom was predeceased by husband Peter, number two son Roman; parents, Anne and Bill Bodnar; sister Judy Berard (Ed); brothers, Bernie (Tillie) and Don. Mom is survived by her children, Bruce (Annie), Kim and Karen (Clint); grandchildren, Crystal, Kristyn, Nikki, Brett, Christopher, Brad, Dylan, Adam, Trace and Christy; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jerry and Silas; brothers, Gerry (Louise), Vern and many nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for all the wonderful care and compassion shown towards our mom over the years. The family would be honoured if you can join them in a Celebration of mom's Life to be held this Saturday, January 7, 2016 at the Hartford Legion, 1748 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Mother Holds Your Hand for Awhile, But Holds Your Heart Forever. • Grandma, I miss you every single day. You are the most beautiful woman I’ve had in my life. The most amazing grandma, and my best friend. I wish you were here with me and your great grandchildren. They are so amazing, we talk about you often. When we drive by Holy Family we always say, “hi grandma, we miss you and love you,” with kisses. Jerry says he loves you and will see you in heaven one day. Oh my heart… he’s such a beautiful boy, he would be your favourite! Just as you would be his. I love you, I miss you, everyday. I think of you all the time, I love you grandma xoxo - Posted by: Crystal (Granddaughter ) on: Jan 22, 2024
