ALEXANDER CHERRIE March 6, 1926 - January 2, 2017 We are deeply saddened to advise that husband, father and grandfather, Sandy (Alexander) Cherrie, peacefully left us on January 2 after living a full life. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Wieler, and his children Sandra, Donna Keller (Garry) and Gavin, along with his grandchildren Clinton, Matthew and Alex.   • We were saddened to hear of Sandy's passing. He was a great friend and neighbour when he lived out in Winnipeg Beach in Harbour Village. Ken enjoyed sharing a Guiness with Sandy from time to time. He was a wonderful storyteller and could sing a great tune!   • Sandy and I were friends for some 40 years. Sang with Sandy in the Irish Tavern Singers. First saw Sandy singing at the Norwood Hotel in 1973. We had some memorable nights, Winnipeg Irish Association, Burns Nights, Shrine Auditorium on Wellington Crescent.   • I was a friend of Sandy's for many years, I worked in his area (shovel shop for four years) We were members of the Irish club, put together the Burns night's at the Irish club, and sang with the Irish Tavern Singers. Also we were in the Lodge together. Last Time I bumped into Sandy was at the Comp in Selkirk at a Scottish Night a few years ago.
