SARAH OFFMAN With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, baba, aunt and friend, Sarah, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer, after having been diagnosed in July of 2016. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted and loving husband, Jack; her much loved sons and daughters-in-law, Elliot and Helen, Steven and Lindsey, Raymond and Laura; and her beloved grandchildren, Hayden, Ronin, Layla, Ethan, Avelyn, Hunter and Nate. She is also remembered by her doting sister and brother, Susan (Ori) Wieselman and Barry (Margo) Berger, as well as nephews, Myles (Dianna) and Jeff Wieselman; and nieces, Michelle (Adrien) Daigle and Sara (Blake) Robert and their families; as well as dear cousins and extraordinary friends. Sarah was predeceased by her parents, Kiwa and Gertie Berger. Sarah was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan on May 29, 1949. The family moved to Winnipeg in the early fifties and Sarah attended Luxton School, Jefferson Jr. High and Garden City Collegiate. She graduated from Red River College as a lab technologist, a career she enjoyed for many years, later followed by working at the Bay's linen department. She also volunteered for many organizations, including the Terry Fox Foundation, which gave her great joy. Sarah's inner beauty will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a kind, generous woman, who touched everyone she met with her warm and gentle nature. She was a wonderful mother and devoted wife. She and Jack had a wonderful marriage of almost 46 years. Her greatest joy in the last 14 years was the births of her seven grandchildren. Sarah cherished each one and spent as much time as she could between Winnipeg and Toronto to be with them, and they, in turn, loved to be with her. The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks for the care and outstanding support provided by the nurses at CancerCare at the Victoria Hospital, as well as Dr. Torri and Dr. Ogaranko. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides, from the third floor of the Victoria Hospital, who provided special care for Sarah's comfort during her brief hospital stay. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Congregation Etz Chayim, with Rabbi Lander and Cantor Kasner Greaves officiating. Shiva and visitations will continue on Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12 at 270 Fairhaven Road, main floor lounge from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. For those who wish, a donation may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. No words can express how she will be missed.

Sarah lived in the same building as I am. I meet her and her husband Jack, in the parking spot, in the lower level. She was a very kind and gentle person. She was always smiling and very pleasant. She will be missed. - Posted by: Brenda Mignon () on: Jan 11, 2017

We are sorry to hear of Sarah's passing. I worked for Jack for many years at Robert H. Smith and you could tell how much he adored her as he would often tell us stories over the lunchroom table about things Sarah would do or how she was so delighted to climb on the airplane to see her first grandchildren in Toronto. She had a heart of gold. - Posted by: Tina Hellmuth and David Najduch () on: Jan 11, 2017
