CLAIRE CECILE MARIE LAGASSE (née DESROSIERS) 1929 - 2017 Peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, our mom, mémère, grand grandmère, soeur, belle-soeur, matante, and friend, left us to go to join her Tis-Gus'; Paulette; her parents Emilien and Ernestine; and Anna, George, Thérèse, Marie, Yvette, Maurice, Léo, and Amanda; "sur la montagne" in the sky where partying, singing, dancing and laughing will be continuous and the coffee will always be hot and Kahlua in abundance. Claire was born on January 11, 1929. Claire married the love of her life, Auguste, on September 27, 1950. He passed away in June 2013. Claire will be sadly missed by her children Guy (Beryl), Paul (Yvette), Nicole (Ron), Danielle (Joe), Marc (Bernice), and Roxanne (Ron); son-in-law Ron Belisle (Brenda); as well as by her sisters and brothers Léonne, Jeanne, Céline (Stan), Estelle (Fred), Simone, Bertille (Lucien), Paul (Shirley), Jean (Edith), Robert (Sharon), and Guy (Claire); and brother-in-law Henri. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Yolande, Sr. Eliane fdlc, and Gertrude (Lorenzo). Claire was very proud and protective of her 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Claire was a woman of faith who was always willing to support people in need, both near and afar. She was a devoted, hard working mother and grandmother who always had time to visit and laugh. Claire was also a devoted nursing aide at the St. Norbert and then the St. Adolphe Nursing Home, where she spent many years making friends and caring for the elderly. As luck would have it, Claire returned to the St. Adolphe Nursing Home in 2011 as a patient, where she received the same devoted care from the people she had previously worked with. Claire was never one to sit around, and as a patient would help the staff. She would often mention that she had not yet received her paycheck. After her retirement, Claire's home was always open for coffee, stories and laughs. She also enjoyed her summers in St. Malo as well as her winters in Mesa. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. (Eulogy at 10:15 a.m.) at the St. Adolphe Parish Church. Interment of her cremated remains will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Lunch will take place after interment at the St. Adolphe Pioneer Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS 475 Provencher Blvd. in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220
