REID GEORGE BURNETT March 14, 1946 Passed away at home December 8, 2016 Growing up in Winnipeg, during high school Reid had many friends at Glenlawn Collegiate. He worked as a CNR freight train brakeman and conductor in both Winnipeg and Vancouver, before moving to Nanaimo to become a realtor saying, "why wait to retire in the best place in Canada?" He loved his family deeply and was immensely proud of his son Craig Burnett (Coralee) and daughter Carly Webb (Sean). He loved and played an active role in the lives of his grandchildren Odin and Genevieve Burnett, and couldn't wait to spoil grandson Webb on his birth in March. Predeceased by his son Riley, and his parents Viida and Harvey, he will be greatly missed by his immediate family and by his sisters in Winnipeg Viida (Murray) Boles and Kim (Jim) Kelly and their families. Rest in peace, Dad. In accordance with his stern wishes, there will be no service.

  • Eileen and I extend our sincere condolences to the family. Remembering good times with Reid when we were kids: garden raiding and other mischief committed while on sleep outs; car "hopping" in winter; countless hours playing hockey under street lamps and at Windsor CC.
