MARGARET MURPHY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Murphy on January 9, 2017 at the age of 87. Margaret passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital with her children and grandchildren at her side. Margaret was the loving wife of the late Les Murphy, wonderful mother to her daughters, Lesley and Shelley (Peter); son Michael; devoted grandmother to Dallas and Logan; and close sister to Lillian Mulligan, Val (Dave) Matheson and the late Kathy Lussier. Also important to Margaret were her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, "Jim" and "Ronka"; brothers-in-law, Charlo Lussier, Dr. Bill Mulligan and Ken Murphy, as well as other extended family members. Margaret was raised on the family farm in Reykjavik, Manitoba. She married Les in 1960 and raised her family in Winnipeg. Margaret was devoted to her family and took care of us all. She was quiet and private, yet had an amazing influence on the lives of many. She was patient, generous and kind. She always put the needs of others ahead of herself. We will miss and remember her always. The family wishes to thank all those who expressed their condolences. A private family interment is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice.
