Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL AILEEN CAMERON (nee FAIRBAIRN) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Aileen Cameron (nee Fairbairn) on January 2, 2017 at The Heights. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 70 years, Donald William Cameron; by her daughter Alison and her four children and five grandchildren; by her daughter Pat (Brian) and her three sons and two granddaughters; as well as her brother Howard (Ruth); brother-in-law Al, and her sister Alison's family. Muriel was born July 16, 1921 to George and Alice Fairbairn in Winnipeg. She graduated from United College in 1941 with a BA and the following year from University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Education. Prior to her marriage, she taught high school in Roland and Emerson, Manitoba. After her marriage to Don, they lived in parts of eastern Canada, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky, returning to Winnipeg to take up permanent residence. She was active in the United Church, Past President of Deer Lodge Curling Club and Past Provincial President of Manitoba PEO. After raising her three children, she and Don moved to Vancouver for four and a half years and then onto Summergate Village in Sidney to enjoy their retirement years with curling, golf, tennis and an active life in her PEO chapter AR. Travel also became an important part of their life. With her lifelong partner, Don, the retirement days were beautiful, happy years. Many thanks to all who were such an important part of her journey.

I always remember and appreciate how kind Don and Muriel were to me when I lived in Victoria. Sorry for your loss, Don. May the memories of seventy years help to sustain you during this difficult time. - Posted by: Beth Johnson (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2017
