PIERRETTE (PEGGY) BOROSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Pierrette "Peggy" Boroski. Left to mourn and continue her legacy are her loving husband of 60 years, Robert "Bob" Boroski, children and grandchildren, Susan (Ron) Bodie, Kyle (Britt), Mat (Alex), Kara, Sandra (Lenn) Carlson, Mark, Jordan, Brett, Jason, Brenda (Trevor) Westwood, Leesa, Maiya, Peter and Bruce (Wendy) Boroski, Tia, Ali and Adam, brothers, Mike Marier (Gisele) and Bob Marier; and brothers-in-law, Richard (Heather) Boroski and Bob Garrett as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbours. Peggy is predeceased by her parents Margeurite and Paul Marier and her big brother Benoit Marier. Peggy was born Pierrette Marie Margeurite Virginie Marier on May 31, 1936. She grew up with her brothers in St. Eugene, QC before moving to Ottawa where she learned English in high school. As a young lady in the work force, she was convinced by a friend to attend a dance where she met her devoted husband Bob. After a short courtship they were married on March 23,1957 and moved to Bob's new Naval post in Churchill Manitoba. This was a time of great fun and friendships with other young couples, many of whom they remain in contact with. After two years in Churchill, Bob and Peggy moved back to Winnipeg where they raised their four children in a house they built themselves in 1961. Peggy was an active member of the East St. Paul community club, curling, volunteering at the rink and starting up a girls baseball team. There were many days that Peggy would have a station wagon full of kids from the street taking them to the rink in the winter or Birds Hill Park for a swim in the summer. Peggy curled competitively for a few years with other ladies from the community and won the aggregate trophy one year. In her later years she took up golf, painting and enjoyed going for breakfast every Sunday with a group of great friends. She especially enjoyed her Wednesday visits with her close friends and cousins Denis and Nancy Wasylyk. She was a devoted wife and mother, the ultimate caregiver for anyone who needed her. Peggy's greatest joy was, without a doubt, her family. She was the kind of Mom that could easily put aside household chores to get down on the floor and play with her children, and also did so with her grandchildren. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports of all kinds and loved telling everyone of all of their accomplishments, be they academic, athletic or job related. Through all of these activities she met many of her childrens' friends who also grew to love her and experience her great personality and sense of humour. Also during this time Peggy was also a partner, shareholder and secretary treasurer for Sur-Seal Fastening Systems Ltd. Bob and Peggy loved to travel with their children, taking them from coast to coast in both Canada and the US. Her children remember the packed snacks and drinks for the road trips, car bingo games, and all of the fun activities she would plan to keep them busy for long drives. They were fortunate enough to win an RV and a car in the Deer Lodge Hospital lottery and would often just sit in the RV in the driveway having tea and marveling at how lucky they were, both for winning and more so for their lives and families in general. They enjoyed visiting Sandra, Lenn and the kids up at Clear Lake in the summers, taking beautiful photos of the sunsets there. "She can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens. She smiles when she feels like screaming, and sings when she feels like crying. She cries when she's happy and laughs when she is afraid. Her love is unconditional." As per her wishes there will be no funeral. A private celebration of this great life with family and close friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

I am so sorry about Mrs. Boroski's passing. She was a wonderful neighbor and I have many fond memories of my childhood on Wallace Ave. I had the same Sunfire as theirs and I also sat in the RV on the driveway with this lucky couple that were such a meaningful part of the many years of SO many people! Mrs. Boroski knew I was a screaming terror since we arrived from Holland. As a stay at home mom, she knew (I'm sure) when I skipped school. Her and Uncle Bob also tried an intervention for me, ohhh the memories! I feel like she was the neighborhood "eye of the storm," also literally during renovations next door. You are all in my thoughts today. Jackie K - Posted by: Jackie Kwakernaak (neighbor) on: Jun 02, 2017
