DOROTHY EILEEN TAYLOR It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our Mum, Dorothy on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in her 90th year. Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her daughters, Lynn and Eileen and son-in-law Bob; sister Betty Horner; seven grandsons, Justin (Tracy), Ryan (Chrissy), Adam, Todd and Neil (Kim), Scott (Michelle) and Geoff, along with ten great-grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Tyson, Abbey, Darrah, Dakota, Eddie, Ava, Alexis and Leah. She was predeceased by her husband Jim and son-in-law Errol. Mum was born and raised in Winnipeg. She was devoted to her family and to her dog Ebony. Happily married for over 50 years, Mum and Dad spent many summers with family at their cottage at Norris Lake and many winters travelling to warmer destinations. Always supportive of family, Mum was willing to tackle any project, either in Winnipeg or with her family in Kincardine, Ontario, a small town which she came to love. Friendly by nature, she had many interests throughout her life including gardening, painting, paper tole, knitting and bridge. Mum transferred her love of gardening from her yard and greenhouse to her patio at Sturgeon Creek II, which was so often admired. While residing at Sturgeon for the last ten years, she continued with her love of bridge, whist and bingo and developed other interests. She made many new friends and was fortunate to be able to renew some old friendships. We credit our Mum with raising two confident, independent and very organized daughters. She will leave a large gap in our lives, but an abundance of memories to cherish. In compliance with Dorothy's wishes, no Funeral Service will be held. Special thanks to the staff of Sturgeon Creek II and to Sean, Mum's Palliative Care nurse. At Mum's request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. Lynn and Eileen, so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I will always remember her as bright and cheery, friendly to all. She was never at a loss for words and always made me feel welcome. What a blessing to have her as a mom. I know you and your families will miss her greatly as will her many friends. - Posted by: Dayle (King) Johnson (friend) on: Feb 12, 2017
