Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL MUSHUMANSKI (nee WICKHAM) February 20, 1927 - January 13, 2017 Sadly, on Friday, January 13, 2017, Muriel Mushumanski passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. Muriel is survived by sons Bill (Kerry) and Harlan (Yvonne) Mushumanski, daughter Valerie (Milt) Drosdoski, grandchildren Cindy (Charlie) Dodd, Bill Pittman, Chris (Julie) Drosdoski, Marcy (Rob) Williams, Devin Pittman, and Connie (Randy) Laluk, 11 great and three great-great-grandchildren. Muriel was born in 1927 to Bill and Sarah Wickham of Waskada, the youngest of four children. Like most of her generation, she struggled through the hardships and droughts of the Great Depression and the home front difficulties of the Second World War which helped shape her values, a strong will, tireless work ethic and deep sense of family. In 1945 she married Jim Pittman on his return from service and settled down to raise a family. Widowed after two years, Muriel and son Ray returned to live and help out on the Wickham homestead. In 1950 she married Marion Mushumanski, with whom she would share her love, life, three more children and expanding family until his passing in 1995. Muriel was very proud of her prairie pioneer heritage, sharing humorous as well as sad stories of her experiences or family history with each new generation. Her favourite pastimes included dancing, Ukrainian music, sewing, embroidery, gardening, bowling, fishing, time at Rossman Lake, and most of all spending time celebrating family. Mom was predeceased by husbands Jim and Marion, son Ray Pittman, grandson Garrett Mushumanski, granddaughter Nikki Deacon, all her siblings, and many in-laws. The family would like to thank many special people including her wonderful neighbours and special friends Glen and Arlene and Ken and Sharon, grandchildren Cindy and Devin for their assistance, and Bonnie and the fabulous staff at the Seven Oaks Dialysis Centre for their caring and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20 in Waskada, with interment to follow at the Waskada Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in her name would be appreciated.

Sending our condolences to Bill and Kerry, Harlan and Yvonne, Val and Milt. Your Mother was always so much fun at a party and told lots of good stories from the past, she seemed like a tough lady but she had a heart of gold and truly loved her family first and foremost. She will be missed by all who knew her and we cherish the fond memories we will always have of her. May her spirit live on and bring you peace at this difficult time.
