Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN LELAND STILL It is with deep regret that we announce the death of John Leland Still, on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Stonewall Hospital, at the age of 60 years. Remaining to cherish John's memory are his wife, Barbara and children, Jason (Sarah), Melanie (Ty) and Amanda (Adrien). John was a 31-year veteran of the Winnipeg Police Service, attaining the rank of Detective Sergeant. A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Special thanks to all the staff at Stonewall Hospital, especially Dr. Graham, Dr. Zahiri and CRN Remple. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Our deepest condolences to Barb and all of the family! John was a great person and though we didn't see him as often in the last few years, we have always thought of him as a very good friend. To John's family, please accept my condolences. Its been many years since I worked with John in Dist 2 detectives. In that short time John gained my respect and admiration for the way he conducted himself with co-workers, accused and victims. Those of us working for and with him are better officers today because of that experience. Rest in Peace John, the battles over.
