KEITH D. ARMSTRONG April 11, 1936 - January 6, 2017 Keith passed away in Phoenix, Arizona after suffering a stroke. Coupled with Parkinson's disease, the infirmities were too great. Keith is survived by his devoted wife of close to 60 years, Iris; their children, Carol Elias (Oahu, HI), Douglas Armstrong (Winnipeg) and Jill Armstrong (Calgary); his grandchildren, Sarah, Keith, Rachel and Kevan Elias and their father Monte; Kyle, Jessica (great-grandson Jaxon) and Mitchell Armstrong and their mother Evelyn; Karl Armstrong and Stephanie Brown (Ryan); Keith's sister Jean Swift (Glen). He was predeceased by his parents, E. A. (Eddie) and Beatrice Armstrong, and granddaughter Bella Elias. Keith spent the majority of his working life with Great West Life in Winnipeg, first in Public Relations followed by Group and Individual Sales where he became the first Manager of Selectpac. Keith and Iris were long time members of Niakwa Golf Club. He served as President of the Manitoba Golf Association and Chair of the Manitoba Open. The golf and curling prowess of Iris and Doug were whole-heartedly supported by Keith as were all the athletic activities of his grandchildren. He was a past member of the Board of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers; supporter of the Winnipeg Jets and Goldeyes. For the past many years Keith and Iris wintered in Mesa, Arizona; residing in the Leisure World community, where they enjoyed the company of many new friends as well long time Winnipeg friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Service will be held later this summer. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Parkinson's Society.
