MARY IWANKOW June 15, 1925 - January 16, 2017 After a long battle with dementia Mom has joined her husband Steve and son Terry in heaven. Mary is survived by daughters Starr England (Tom), Carol Wimert (Dave) daughter-in-law Janice Iwankow. Grandchildren Tammy Chabauty, Corrie Peterson (Bob), Chris Iwankow (Cynthia), Trevor Iwankow (Keriann), Lindsay Boychuk (Jamie) and Erin Wimert. Great- grandchildren Amanda Chabauty (Adam), Samantha and Jorden Peterson, Carlie Chartier, Aryanna and Zaiden Iwankow, Marley and Kiarra Iwankow, Brody and Ike Boychuk, and great-great-grandson Paxton Goertzen. Mom was loved by all and was so happy by being surrounded by her large family. Special thanks to the staff at Pinecrest, Kenora for their wonderful care. Mom picked the following poem over 20 years ago and asked that it be part of her obit. When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low, remember the love that we once shared, miss me but let me go. For this is the journey we must take and each must go alone, it's part of the Master's plan, a step on the way to Home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go. As per Mary's request there will be a family gathering at a later date.
