THELMA DORIS FREEMAN (nee PRIESTLY) 1917 - 2017 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Thelma on Sunday January 8, aged 99. She is survived by her grandchildren, Roger (Veronika) Cook, Suzanne Cook; and great-grandsons David and Ryan Cook. Thelma was predeceased by by her loving husband of 65 years Hughie (2007); her daughter Iris (2001); her parents Doris and Joseph; brother Trevor and sisters, Audrey and Iris. "Tosh" was born here in Winnipeg and met the love of her life, Hughie in 1927. They married 1942 and had a marriage to be envied. Throughout their 65 years they were best friends with an unfading love. Thelma worked as a secretary at Edmond Partridge Junior High for many years until her retirement, and was a long time resident of West Kildonan. Thelma was known for both her wit and energy. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and travelling. She and Hughie also enjoyed many summers together at Victoria Beach. Special thanks to the staff of the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, who made Thelma's last years comfortable. A private service and burial will take place at a later date. If you wish to celebrate Thelma's life, donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
