Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE MARGARET PEGGIE (nee WEST) November 3, 1931 - January 18, 2017 Irene Peggie, 85, passed away on January 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Irene was predeceased by her husband Jack, her father Austin West, her parents Florence and Fred Casson, brother Bill and son-in-law Neil. Left to cherish her memory are her six children Karen (Scott), Lisa, Jack (Theresa), Susan (Dave), Sharon (Scott), and Sandra; twelve Grandchildren, and three Great-Grandchildren. Irene is also survived by her sister Pat Slobodzian. Irene was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended Gordon Bell High School. Mom was a founding member of the Winnipeg Twin and Triplet club. She was proud to have been the first female manager at Powell Equipment retiring as Personnel Manager in 1994. She was very supportive of her family in all their endeavours. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to Mom. Irene was a proud and private person; always a real class act. Irene enjoyed her time at their cottage in Sandy Hook with family and friends. Their doors were always open. She was very creative and an avid crafter. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Oakview Place for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McCrorie-West Family Fellowship for Alzheimer Research at the University of Manitoba or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
