Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWIILLIAM GRIEVE BUCHANAN Sadly we announce that our Dad passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 surrounded by his family. William was predeceased by his wife Anne of 59 years. Dad is survived by children, William (Louise), Irene (David), Dianne (Joe), John; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Nan; sisters-in-law, Mary, Jean and brother-in-law Robert, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Dad was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Dad and mom were married on July 7, 1956. Dad immigrated to Canada in 1957 and mom and son William followed in 1958 to join him and build a life in Winnipeg. He worked at the Fort Garry Hotel when he first came to Canada and then the Fort Garry School Division for 22 years. During retirement dad and mom spent time at the Reh-Fit Centre, Dad loved going to Bomber and Jets games, reading, music, travelling. Dad enjoyed raising his four children and spending time with family and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway. Our deepest gratitude to staff at the Golden Door Personal Care Home, Dr. Sheldon Permack, Scott, Sandy, and the staff at the Victoria hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
