MARGARET ANNIE MCKENZIE (GRAY) On January 22, 2017 family said their goodbyes and with Karen at her side, Margaret departed. Born September 28, 1920, the eldest and last surviving child of Hattie (Graham) and Albert James Gray. Predeceased by her husband Donald (1986), infant daughter Linda (1950), and siblings Albert, Lillian and Josephine. Survived by daughters, Shirley Rynbend (Bill), Karen Deans ((John) and Kathryn Thiessen (Peter); grandchildren, Sean and Eric Thiessen and Jennifer (Sergio Capote) and Don Deans. Fondly remembered by her very dear friend Sally Gray who never forgot 'Maggie'. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Margaret packed her bags in 2005 and relocated to London, Ontario to be closer to Karen and her family. Affectionately known as Granny to many at both Cherryhill and Henley Place, her sense of humour and 'go with the flow attitude' made her a pleasure to be around. She brought her 'friendly Manitoba' attitude with her, always welcoming strangers to the morning coffee. Granny could navigate a walker in reverse while in the sitting position down the hallways like no other. She was also a notorious figure at Cherryhill Mall for propelling her scooter at high speed and on other occasions holding court with her sidekick Glen. Special thanks to Dr. Lockhart, Junior, Bumpy, Margie and Amanda (the originals) and staff at Henley Place. The love, kindness, hugs and kisses were always appreciated. The honour guard on January 23 was a fine tribute to a great lady and tears from staff proved that. Margaret always tried the very best she could and leaves this world having no regrets.
