WILLIAM ROBERT TELENCOE December 20, 1922 - January 20, 2017 Bob was a generous carrying family man! He died peacefully after a sudden decline. He was 94. He was married to his wife of 72 years, Virginia (Roman). He will be greatly missed by his wife; his daughter Christine and son-in-law Brian Nielson, his daughter Deborah Cleven and his grandchildren, Virginia Nielson, Erik Nielson, Elizabeth Cleven, Nola and her husband Johann Raubenheimer. He is predeceased by his sister Mary and husband Mac Mitenko; brother Yeo (Mike) and sister-in-law Mason Telencoe. Bob will also be dearly missed by Virg's cousin Bill Lutynec; his nephews, Jim Telencoe, Paul and Graham Mitenko and families. Bob was a proud naval veteran of the Second World War and married his sweetheart in 1945 while on leave from Halifax. There were many stories about his ship leaving harbor while he was on his honeymoon in Lac Lu. After the war, his hockey career with the semi pro team, The Minneapolus Millers was heating up. He made the decision to return to Winnipeg to work for the family business, D.E, Adam"s Coal Co., then converting coal burners to stokers. The family business continued in the summers of the fifties and sixties where they built and operated Linklater Camp, a fishing lodge east of Kenora. Side note: his ashes will be returned to this place that he truely loved. Later, he owned and operated Niel & Watt Esso with his brother Yeo. Bob is a proud founding Member of Rossmere Country Club. He enjoyed sports and kept active with curling and golf until his blue eyes were dimmed by macular degeneration. He loved to play pitch and putt with his grandchildren and drive around a golf cart at his residence in East St. Paul. After a stroke in 2012, Bob moved into Middlechurch Home, where he received excellent care and lived comfortably with his wife. There will be a family and friends celebration of life at 2012 Roseneath Ave. on January 29 at 2:00 p.m.
