Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY M. ROSSINGTON On Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the age of 86, Dorothy passed away at the Middlechurch Home. She is survived by: her three children Bill (Val), Mida, and Jim (Aline), grandchildren Annie, Brett, and Devin, and great-granddaughter Allie. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg in 1930 as Dorothy M. Dodd and lived in many places in Manitoba and north-western Ontario. She finished high school in Flin Flon, Manitoba and that is where she married Elvon Rossington. In 1961 the family moved to Stonewall, Manitoba where Dorothy became the president of the Stonewall Legion Women's Auxiliary. After a brief move to The Pas, Dorothy returned to Stonewall where she worked in the local library and ran the first 'bookmobile' in the area. Later, she worked at the Sears Garden City store in Winnipeg, moving first to Selkirk, Manitoba and then Winnipeg. After retiring from Sears, Dorothy went on bus tours and an Alaskan cruise. Declining health forced her to move into the Fred Douglas Heritage House assisted living home in Winnipeg, and then later to the Middlechurch care home. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment has been planned.

My condolences Jim and to all your family, my favorite memories was hanging out at your place waiting on the big pot of goulash your mom would make and that big road trip we all took to Bakers Narrows. Take Care Shane and Noblee - Posted by: Shane Elliott (Friend) on: Jan 29, 2017
