ADELE ANN MARIE CARROLL It is with profound sadness that we announce that on January 27, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones, the sparkle went out of the eyes of our beautiful wife and stepmother Adèle Carroll at the too young age of 63. Adèle is survived by her adoring husband of 30 years Bill; her stepson Chris; the worlds best daughter-in-law Jenn; her beloved grandsons, Daniel and Grant; her Ottawa brother Denis (Pam); niece Danielle; nephew André and her sister Jeanne also of Ottawa. Adèle was born on September 25, 1953 in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba to the late Jean and Germaine Molgat. After schooling in Ste. Rose Adèle moved to Winnipeg to attend Red River Community College and after graduation joined the workforce. Adèle loved accounting but more than that she loved bossing around the employees and partners at Crosier Kilgour Partners where she worked for 32 years ending her career in the position of Business Manager. She was famous for pestering the partners and demanding "turn in your time sheets"! Adèle was the most hard working, organized and detail oriented person on the planet and coworkers and friends alike knew if they misplaced something Adèle would likely have a hard copy of whatever it was squirrelled away somewhere. Adèle and Bill loved to travel and made many trips throughout Canada and the USA, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe but by far their favourite place was Maui which they had visited 19 times. Ironically, it was on the day they were leaving for Maui in early January that Adèle was admitted to Health Sciences Centre. While Adèle loved traveling she loved her grandchildren even more. She was not what you would consider a kid person but she adored Daniel and Grant and showered them with love and kindness and enjoyed dragging Bill on endless trips to Toad Hall to "get something for the kids". Adèle loved her iPad and was an avid reader of romance novels, which she called "smut" and belonged to half a dozen or more libraries where at any one time she would have dozens of books on loan. It was necessary to be organized, smart and efficient in managing this and she had those qualities and more. People who knew Adèle will attest to her generosity, thoughtfulness, sunny disposition, quirky sense of humour and most importantly her willingness to always put others interests before her own. All of these qualities were on display in the last 2.5 years while Adèle battled cancer. Our little family will miss our Adèle more than words can describe. Life for us will never be the same. She was a spectacular loving wife, a beloved stepmom and a loyal and caring friend. We are all lucky to have had her in our lives. We are also lucky in this province to have an institution like CancerCare Manitoba and our family salutes them for their kindness in caring for Adèle especially Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk. It will come as no surprise to those of you who knew the very private Adèle to recognize that there will be no service following her cremation. If you are so inclined donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.

While it's been years since I've seen you Adele, it certainly doesn't change the fond memories of dinner parties and game nights at Mom and Dad's house when I was young. I wish you comfort and peace. Please say Hi to all who've gone before. Thinking of your family at this time. Your godmother and me. - Posted by: Allison Cooney (Cousin) on: Jan 28, 2017

The Carroll's will not be the same without our Deli. We will miss her incredible sense of humour, friendship and amazing research skills. Whether she was advising us that there is no airport in Hopkins, Belize, sending hundreds floor plans for apartments, or supplying all the passwords for my Dad's computer, she could find anything on her iPad. We are grateful for the time we had with such an amazing woman and our lives will be less full without her. I will miss her support and endless humour even during difficult times. Wish we were there to hug the Winnipeg Carroll's Lots of Love Reenie & Keng - Posted by: Laureen Carroll (Niece ) on: Jan 28, 2017

My heartfelt sympathy Bill in the loss of Delie. I was fortunate to meet you both on many occasions on Pender Island through your brother Ron. I know Ron and Diane enjoyed every single visit and looked forward to many more. - Posted by: Rhonda Todrick (Acquaintance) on: Jan 28, 2017

I was Bill's friend since birth - we were born on the same day. In knowing Bill we both got to know Adele - since Adele did not know her way around the kitchen - Bill did all the cooking - we went to their home often for dinner and they came to our home often - Adele said to me that "she had found everything she could possibly want in a husband" she loved Bill that much - even though we knew Adele was sick we are both shocked that she is gone - Adele you will be missed - Don and Joanne - Posted by: Don and Joanne Birrell (Friend) on: Jan 28, 2017

I was fortunate to have worked in the same office with Adele from 1981 until she retired from CKP. I was lucky enough to be one the partners whom she kept on the straight and narrow. her dedication to doing the perfect job was appreciated by not only staff and partners at CKP but our clients as well. for many of us it was sad day when she decided to retire and now a much sadder day. we all loved her and will miss her. - Posted by: John Miller (friend/co- worker at CKP) on: Jan 28, 2017
