Date of Passing: Jan 13, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA EDITH STOKELL Peacefully on January 13, 2017 Barbara passed away at the age of 68, at Concordia Hospital. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Robert (Roy) and Grace Stokell, and sister-in-law Faye. Barbara is survived by her brothers Roy (Maureen) and Grant, nephew Gary (Teresa), their sons Cole and Ty, and nephew Brent. Barbara was raised and lived all her life in Winnipeg. She worked many years with Dominion Soudack, Standard Aero and UMA ENG. Barb made many good friends at these work places who she kept in touch with. Unfortunately her breathing problems (COPD) for at least the last six years kept her close to home, and in the last year and a half mainly house bound. Barbara was a very courageous, generous, strong willed lady. She was always concerned about others. She loved her friends and family very much. Barbara lived and took care of her mother over the years. There were things Barb wanted to accomplish, but in the last few years unable to do so. Barb loved bingo, curling, golf, puzzles and reading. Special thank you to cousin Candy Storey for looking after Barbara - helping out wherever she could like doctors appointments, groceries, visiting, etc. Special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Concordia Hospital for taking such good care of Barbara during her stay at the hospital. Cremation has already taken place and later in the spring her remains will be laid to rest. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
