  • Wayne was a very special person and a very generous person. I met Wayne when I played hockey at century arena and then continued this friendship at Silverstone arena. I had just spoke to Wayne on Sunday afternoon and he was so proud, as he took his grandkids on the Zamboni. He always took the time to engage everyone in conversation and was very good to the kids in the community . Wayne you will be deeply missed ! - Posted by: Scott Mclennan (Friend ) on: Feb 07, 2017

  • My sincere condolences to the Harland family and to Wayne's many friends. I met Wayne over 30 years ago as we both worked for the City of Winnipeg and we're active in CUPE Local 500. Wayne was a solid trade unionist and assisted many co-workers over the years. He was a "glass half-full" kind of person with a smile and a joke for everyone. I count myself lucky to have known and worked with Wayne and again offer sincere condolences to the family. Paul Moist (Past President - CUPE) - Posted by: Paul Moist (Friend) on: Feb 04, 2017

  • I was so shocked and saddened when I heard about Wayne. I've known him for many years as he's delivered our inter-office mail. We always gave each other a hard time and threw jokes back and forth. I spoke of my son and he spoke of his grandson - and of course working at the rinks. The last time I spoke with him we chatted for 15 mins before we carried on with our day. I am going to miss seeing you and hearing about your trips and family. RIP and condolences to family and friends. - Posted by: Cynthia (Co-worker) on: Feb 03, 2017

  • I had the privilege and opportunity to meet Wayne back In 2013 as he was delivering the mail to our place of work. He would stop in to pick up the mail and would always stop by our desks to say hi and joke around with us. He sure new how to cheer us up. Always in a good mood. We got to know each other very well and he found out that I did some auto body work and painting in my spare time. He had asked me to do a little work on his car. Wayne was a Super fan of the Blue bombers and he was not shy to let everyone know it either. He had asked me for his next vehicle, he wanted it painted Blue and Gold. I'm going to miss you Wayne. RIP buddy. Prayers and Condolences to the Harland Family. - Posted by: Frank Stranieri (Friend through work.) on: Feb 02, 2017
