ANDREW KESSELMAN It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle and friend, Andrew Kesselman. Andrew was our rock, a light in our lives, and the truest of friends to those who knew him. He was predeceased by his grandma and grandpa, Fred and Shirley Meadwell, his baba, Laila Kesselman, and just nine short months ago by his beloved hero, his father Ted Kesselman. Andrew is survived by his loving mother Jane Kesselman; his bossy big sister and sounding board Lindsay Kesselman-Duffy; his Zelda-playing partner and extended stay roommate Michael Kesselman; his baby sister who had him wrapped around her little finger Emily Kesselman; his brother-in-law whom he loved like a brother Carew Duffy; and his nephew Isaac Duffy and niece Zoe Duffy, the apples of his eye. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Murray and Jane (Sarah, Stephen, Rachel and Daniel), Bob and Gina, Shelley and Michael (Laura), Hudson and Anna (Liam, Logan and Callum), and his great-aunts and uncles and second cousins. He is survived by his second family, the "Calgary Boys" and his longtime friend Paul Harack. Andrew was in Calgary for work when he passed away and we are forever grateful to his Calgary boys for their support. You will be in our hearts forever. Andrew had a gift for people. He had a way of making people feel at ease, and just like our dad he walked softly but made a big impact. He was ferociously intelligent, an expert in all things technological and spent countless hours patiently helping our mom with her phone, iPad, TV, you name it. He found solace at the family cottage where he loved being surrounded by his family, working beside his dad, puttering around, going for long runs. He and our mom shared a very special bond; he was her buddy. Andrew was her rock throughout our dad's illness, always came early to family dinners to catch up with our mom, and was her companion at the cottage. She forgives him for being "fatty baby" (weighing over 11 pounds at birth). She will love him forever and ever, until the ocean runs dry. Andrew approached everything in life thinking of his family first. While he moved to Calgary to pursue his education and eventually work, he came home to Winnipeg for every holiday and event and never missed one important moment. When our dad first got sick Andrew picked up and moved back to Winnipeg, working virtually so that he could be close to his dad and help his family. He took his nephew to his first Jets game and continued to take him to Jets and Bombers games. His family extended to his friends and he would do anything for anyone, expecting nothing in return. Andrew had just bought his first home and his dream car all on his own, and despite the setbacks of dealing with his dad's death, he had just begun to settle into his home, was excelling at work, spending time with friends and family, and had concrete dreams for the future which included having a family of his own. While a tragic accident robbed him of his future, robbed him of the opportunity to fulfill his dreams, and robbed us of our Andrew, we will continue to live the lessons that he taught us, finish the projects he had planned for the cottage, share his quirky sense of humour, and live in a way that puts our family first forever. Our only sense of comfort amid this horrible loss is that Andrew is now with our dad, watching over us, golfing, and telling inappropriate jokes. Andrew's funeral will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. Pallbearers will be Jeff Neilson, Tyler Soron, Tate Astill, Andre Bougie, Tyler Labonte, Paul Harack and Richard Buchwald. In lieu of flowers, consider donating blood to the Canadian Blood Services in Andrew's name.

I worked with Andrew at Apple. I watched him come in and take the place by storm. He worked so hard and earned his place. He was friends with everyone. I always felt included with Andrew when we were at work and socialized outside of work. My thoughts are with him and his family and friends. - Posted by: Matthew Harrington (Co-worker) on: Feb 10, 2017

It was heartbreaking to find out yesterday about Andrew. At 945 he was always a fun guy to be around if you were having a bad day Andrew was there to make you laugh or help in any way he could. He will be truly missed. R.I.P ANDREW. - Posted by: Tracie Mason (Co-workers from 945!) on: Feb 10, 2017

Sad to hear of Andrews passing. Andrew was one of the first people to approach me at apple while we were in training together. We walked down 8th ave on our break getting to know each other and having great conversation. Andrew was a very kind and understanding individual. I know a lot of us that worked with him looked up to him and appreciated the time we had together. My condolences to all his friends and family - Posted by: Jason Bank (Co-worker) on: Feb 09, 2017

I was lucky enough to know Andrew and experience his patience, humor, and kind heart. Though it was years ago, he always has stayed in my thoughts and heart as I hoped life was treating him the best. That he was getting life's best - which is what he deserved. I will reflect on our late night laughs and adventures. Sitting on your roof looking at the stars. You were something special Andrew, I am so so saddened to hear about your passing. My deepest condolences to Andrew's family. This world lost a kind soul. - Posted by: Kara Tetrault (nee Doratti) (Past Friend) on: Feb 09, 2017

Andrew and I were in the same interview group at Apple. We developed a great relationship over the year we worked together, and years after we had both moved to different cities. He was a true friend and caring person. He touched many people's lives, and he will be greatly missed. My condolences to all his friends and family. I worked alongside Andrew at Apple when I first started back in 2011. He was my mentor and was my first point of contact and trainer when I started years ago. Andrew was fiercely talented, had a pinpoint focus and knew technology like the back of his hand. It saddens me to hear about this, my thoughts go out to his family & friends during this time. - Posted by: Jacob (Co worker) on: Feb 07, 2017

Andrew was the sincerest friend I have ever had the privilege of having at work. He always had level headed advice to share, and found the positive side in every situation. He was the definition of a great human being, he had the most amazing smile that lit up the room every time he entered. He is missed dearly. - Posted by: Marcin (Close friend) on: Feb 07, 2017

So sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. We did not get to know him well but we were anxious to get to once his house was finished and he had time to meet. He seemed like a true gentleman. - Posted by: Brian Timlick and Brenda Elford (Next door neighbour. ) on: Feb 06, 2017

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Andrew's passing recently. I worked closely with Andrew at two separate tech related companies. As his co-worker, I frequently turned to Andrew for his technical expertise and professional guidance. He never failed to provide practical solutions and he motivated team members to produce exceptional results. I can truthfully say that I looked up to Andrew. I never shared this with Andrew face to face, but he was a major inspiration for me to work harder in my own professional life. He will sorely be missed. Rest easy brother, I am a better person today having known you. - Posted by: Jeebs Nabil (Coworker) on: Feb 06, 2017
