Date of Passing: Jan 31, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN PANASCHUK October 14, 1926 - January 31, 2017 Peacefully on January 31, 2017 John Panaschuk, beloved husband of Eleanor of Selkirk, Manitoba. John lived most of his life on the homestead he created for him and his family. He loved everything regarding the homestead, he enjoyed farming, gardening and all the good tasting vegetables that they harvested in the fall. He especially loved caring for Tannis' horses. John had a gentle soul, to see him was to see a big smile. He was as generous as the day was long - whether it was with a helping hand, or some of Eleanor's delicious cooking. John leaves to cherish his memory his wife Eleanor, of 57 years, and his brother Nick. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Mary Panaschuk, son Timothy (Timmy), his daughter Tannis, his sisters Olga and Lena, and his brother Bill. At John's wishes cremation has taken place, with a private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, or the Community Foundation for Prostate or Breast Cancer. I had met John, and his wife Eleanor when John resided at RRPCH. His room was was next door to my Mom's and he was a guardian angel. He was a gentleman, always so kind and welcoming person. He was quick to bring out some treats especially if he saw small children there. May God bless his soul and bless Eleanor's heart. - Posted by: Brenda Portree (acquaintance ) on: Feb 09, 2017

I have such fond memories from my youth of being friends with Timmy and sleep overs at John and Eleanor's house. You are both such nice people and I am so sad to hear John has passed away. God bless you Eleanor. - Posted by: Ian Hailstone (freind) on: Feb 04, 2017

I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I never got to meet your family but I think back fondly of our school days in Inwood. You have my sympathy at this sad time. - Posted by: Marion Strick (A classmate of Eleanor's) on: Feb 04, 2017
