Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I will always have fond memories of Uncle Morris. To me, I remember him as being like the “Friendly Giant”, as he always had a big smile on his face no matter what. One summer when I was at the farm in Fisher Branch at the age of about 13, I decided to surprize him by washing and waxing his car while he was working away in the field. It was a hot summer day with the sun beating down on the car. When I started to wipe away the wax from the car, the paint came along with it! I knew for sure that I was going to be in big trouble. When Uncle Morris saw his poor car with all the wax stripped off the trunk, even though I am sure he felt like strangling me, all he did was walk away, and didn’t say a word. Some of my earliest and fondest memories of Uncle Morris are the days when I used to go to the field with him and ride on the wagon while he loaded up the bales of hay. I never ever got board of being with him while he worked those long hours. Just me and the dogs (Rexie and Sparky) and Uncle Morris! I wonder how many hours in his life time he worked those in fields? One can only guess. As I look back on pictures, I will always cherish my childhood memories of being on the farm in Fisher Branch. Rest in Peace Uncle Morris - - Posted by: Karen (Hnatiuk) Schuldes (niece) on: Feb 07, 2017

  • Uncle Morris meant the world to me. Even though we moved to Vancouver in 1968, I always had a special place in my heart for him. As a young girl we spent the summers at the homestead. Uncle would take us for tractor rides around the farm. We would help feed the animals and pump water to bring in the house. I have fond memories of the old house listening to the gramophone while dad, gido and Morris played guitar and the spoons. I remember when lightening hit the house and it burnt to the ground! He never complained much, just kept on with the task at hand. Uncle always had a kind word and a smile with a twinkle in his eyes. His laugh was genuine and infectious. Mom, Tina Semeniuk (Hnatiuk) and I went to visit him a few years ago while he was living at the Chalet. We went out to see the house and of course the cemetery then to the hotel for lunch. Brought back many memories. I still have the necklace he gave me for Christmas when I was 10 years old! I will always love you Uncle! - Posted by: Darlene Korotva ( Semeniuk ) (Niece ) on: Feb 06, 2017

  • Remember Morris very well as in my younger years I grew up quite close to him on the farm. He always was very nice. Morris hauled some cordwood to the rail siding for my brother Johnny with a green, I believe about 1949 Chev truck. As I remember the truck looked new.....I happened to go along for the ride as a kid......Seen Morris quite often in Fisher Branch as time went on..... - Posted by: Peter Huta () on: Feb 04, 2017
