QUON FAE WONG After a lengthy illness, Quon Fae Wong passed away peacefully at Concordia Place Personal Care Home on February 2, 2017 at the age of 84 years. Quon Fae Wong was born in the village of Kwok Dow, Taishan county, Guangdong province, China on August 23, 1932. In 1952, Quon Fae immigrated to Canada, following his father to Winnipeg. He started work in the Chinese restaurant business, then later owning and operating his own restaurant, Golden Palace, until his retirement in 2001. Quon Fae leaves to mourn his older sister Ngookwoo Yee of San Francisco, CA; children, Harley (Amy), Turnly (Cindy), Alice of Saskatoon, Jean (Leo) of Toronto, and Virginia (Lawrence); grandchildren, Caleb and Aaron, Melissa, Mandy, and Tyler, Timothy and Steven, Marco and Paul. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his wife, and middle sister. The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd Floor at Concordia Place Personal Care Home for taking such good care of our Dad during the last nearly two years of his life. Viewing will be at Bardal Funeral Home on 843 Sherbrook St from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017. The service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., also at Bardal Funeral Home, at with interment at Brookside Cemetery to follow. A reception will follow at Kum Koon Garden on 257 King Street in Chinatown at 4:00 p.m.
