RICHARD STEPHEN GATZ It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Stephen Gatz on Sunday, February 5, 2017. He is survived by his children: Dustin (Andrea) and their six children; Carey (Brenda) and their three children; and Tricia (James) Northcott and their four children; his brother Darriel (Eunice); along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Sheila (Moore), and his parents Stephen and Wilhelmina, along with his two brothers Larry and Rodney Gatz. Richard was born June 16, 1944 in Medicine Hat, AB. Growing up on the farm he developed a love of woodworking, and completed many projects that his wife had for him. To provide for his family, Richard lived in Calgary and St. Albert, AB and Winnipeg, MB. His most important work was to provide care for his wife. He was her hands and feet for 41 years, whatever she could dream up or wanted, he completed for her. He volunteered in the Scouting movement, assisting his wife as a Cub Leader, and served his church community. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 45 Dalhousie Drive. I always enjoyed talking with Bro. Gatz, he's so friendly and compassionate. He was a remarkable man who magnified his callings, his opportunities, and his gifts. He will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Angela Chartrand (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2017
