EVELYN FRANCES FOSTER Evelyn Frances Foster (nee Applin), born July 29, 1933, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, with her daughters by her side, on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband Trevor, her mother Gladys Elford, her grandmother Anna Taylor, her brother Ed Applin, sister-in-law Lorraine Applin, son-in-law Aime Lapointe, and many other cherished relatives. She leaves to mourn her passing daughters Gaylene Lapointe, Janice Bortoluzzi (Gordon), Maureen Stopchycki (Jerry), and Shelley Foster, and grandchildren Courtney Hanwell (Jim), Trevor Lord (Amy), Amy Bortoluzzi, Jeffrey Bortoluzzi, Matt Gerbrandt, and Emily Gregorchuk. She also leaves her four great-grandchildren, Trevor, Claire, Alec, and Henry. Evelyn was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Norwood. She met her loving husband Trevor while working at the Rolling Pin Restaurant on Marion Street. They married in September 1954 and raised their four daughters in Windsor Park and St. Norbert before retiring to Beausejour and later to Kelowna where they resided until Dad's passing in 1996. When Mom returned to Winnipeg she lived in Marina del Rey for many years. In 2010 Evelyn moved into River Park Gardens where she was loved and cared for by a wonderful team of professionals who became part of her family. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and admiration for the excellent care they provided Mom and for the genuine kindness they showed to her family. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, February 15 at 1:00 p.m. at E.J. Coutu & Company Funeral Directors, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
