WALLACE RAYMOND HAYES On Saturday, February 4, 2017, Ray died at Lions Personal Care Home at the age of 86 years. Ray is survived by his wife Sally. He was predeceased by his mother Mary and father Wally; brothers, Jerry and Norman. On January 28, 1931 Ray was born in Winnipeg. He was very active in sports. He played professional hockey in England. Ray returned to Winnipeg and worked at MTS. Shortly after, he began studying the Bible, at which time he found the most important thing in life was to help people learn about the true God Jehovah and his purpose for mankind, that is to live on a paradise earth and never be sick or die. This will take place through the establishment of God's Kingdom for which he prayed. Ray got baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Sally on June 2, 1956. He moved to Quebec with his wife in 1959 to pursue his mission as a minister. To support him and his wife, Ray worked as Sales Manager for a box and paper company, but eventually decided to go in a business for himself. He started a cleaning company, which at one point employed sixty employees. However, this took too much of his time for him to pursue his ministry, so he sold the company and went to work as an autonomous salesman selling printing rollers until he retired. Ray continued in the ministry and in 1997 he returned to Winnipeg to take care of his mother until she died. Ray loved people and enjoyed helping them in many ways i.e. he found work for those who had a hard time in life. He will be remembered and missed by his wife and many friends. They all look forward to seeing him in the new world, the paradise, when he is resurrected. On Monday, February 13, 2017 Ray's Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1060 Wolever Avenue. Thanks to all the care givers at The Golden West Centennial Lodge and Lions Personal Care Home for taking such good care of Ray.
