Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSHUA DOUGLAS CARL DESENDER Peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at home in Marquette, MB, Joshua Desender, beloved son of Naomi and Darren Desender, passed away at the age of 13 years. Joshua was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 12, 2003 and lived in Marquette all his life. He attended school in Woodlands and Stonewall. He enjoyed hockey, Lego and meeting new friends. He was a serious collector and had acquired a large assortment of Lego, dinosaurs, rocks, elves and sea shells. Joshua was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy very early in his life but at age six he began to feel the effects of the disease and eventually he was forced to use a wheelchair. Even so he enjoyed riding his bicycle (something the doctor said he would never do), as well as quads, lawn mowers and even a motorcycle. He was a familiar sight in Marquette where he was known and loved by all the residents. Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Darren and Naomi, two brothers, Jacob at home and D.J. in Grand Bend, ON, his grandmother Norma Windle of McCreary, MB, as well as uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandfather Floyd Clark of McCreary in 2009. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12 (Joshua's birthday) at the Meadow Lea Hall, Highway 248, north of Marquette. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place on Monday, February 13, 2017 in McCreary, MB. If friends so desire, memorial donations to SMD Foundation, 401 - 825 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 9Z9, or to Muscular Dystrophy Manitoba, 204 - 825 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 would be appreciated.
