Shirley was born in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland and moved to Canada in 1934 settling in Regina. She married there and moved to Winnipeg where her three children were born and raised. She moved to Swan River for her second marriage and lived there from 1968-1979 after which she returned to Winnipeg to stay, living for a number of years in Osborne Village. Shirley was active and healthy most of her life until osteoporosis took its toll with several broken bones and hospitalizations. She was amazed that she was still alive at 99. The care Mom received was kind and caring and we appreciate all involved. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to a charity of your choice, although Mom's favourite was the Children's Hospital Research Foundation.
