To Robert and his family, It was with great sorrow that I heard about the death of my friend, Eva Lyjak Kay. I can't remember a time when I didn't know her. We grew up together in St. John's Polish National Catholic Parish in Toronto and attended Parkdale Collegiate. At Polish School, she was so much better than I was. She was a leader in all the activities , participated as a dancer and singer and acted in all the little dramas we used to put on. Yes, Eva loved to sing. When I conducted the choir at the church, she was the best alto we had. She led that group and you could always count on her. I remember that I took her out on her 18th birthday, I think, to her first R-rated movie, or at least she said it was. Eva was a vivacious, bright, competent individual who knew what she wanted and was driven to achieve it. Yes, Robert was the light of her life and I remember how excited and happy she was when they were dating. Her high school is planning the fiftieth anniversary of her graduating year and I have been searching to give her the information. Sadly, she won't be there in person but when we toast the graduates, I will certainly hold Eva's memory in my heart. Eva, I will miss you.
