KEITH LANDON GUNNING Suddenly on February 18, 2017, with his wife by his side, Keith Gunning of St. Clements, Manitoba left us to start a new journey. Greeting Keith as he begins this journey are his mom Francis, grandparents Gunning, grandparents Fedoruk, cousin Mark, Auntie Violet, Uncle Bill, and his special buddies Gordy Penny and Denis Dziadek. He leaves behind to hold the fort down his wife Roberta, dad Eugene, brother Timothy, his mother-in-law Bonnie Geall, father-in-law Gerald Geall (Anne), and brothers-in-law John (Thea, Jack), and Aaron. Although the term brother-in-law seems to lessen the relationship. They are brothers of the strongest bond, best friends, and dare we use the word bromance! Keith also has many many aunts, uncles and cousins that are feeling his loss heavily. Keith also leaves his hunting and fishing legacy in the hands of his best friends Christian Donig and Kelly Colbert. The bond between the boys is life long. Sometimes it stretched but it never broke. It was sometimes joked that to marry one was to marry all three. Keith, Kelly and Christian are brothers of the best kind and it will be hard to imagine one without the others. Gerdau was where Keith spent his days and those friendships made his job fun and he always came home with a great story. Johnny, Randal, Chris, and Neufie...he spent half of each day with you guys and loved every minute. Keith didn't just love to fish...it was his religion. If he wasn't in his boat, he was in his shack, or taking the pop-up to the lake. If you had the opportunity to tag along you know it was always a great day! Every fall Keith packed up and began his hunting season. First was deer season with his hunting family in Fraserwood, Manitoba. There were a lot of late nights talking and sharing stories followed by early mornings sleeping in 'the chariot'. Next was his yearly moose hunt with his Pickle Lake, Ontario family. He might have been the only hunter to show up with his own deep freezer. That was Keithalways planning. A celebration of Keith's life will be held Friday, February 24, 3:00 p.m., at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation. Vichnaya Pamyat

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • So Sorry Roberta and families for your tremendous loss. Keith and Roberta were friends of my brother Gord. Gord always spoke very lovingly of them both and he had a great respect for them both. Gord described Keith as one of the nicest people he had ever known. There is a time for everything as in Ecclesiastes 3. Sincere sympathy, Lorna & Dave Doolan - Posted by: Lorna Doolan (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2017

  • Although I hadn't seen Keith in a good 15 years, I've always had fond memories of what a nice guy he was. I'm so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Ailsa Konzelman (Friend) on: Feb 26, 2017

  • Keith and I were born 5 days apart and continued a friendship that started with our fathers. We grew up together in the wilds of St Clements. I remember snowsuit trick or treating with our moms taking turns driving us around each year. Playing with his dog Sheena when we went to visit. Childhood birthday parties where he was always a familiar face. Keith was likely one of the first friends I had. While we grew apart as the years went by, he was never forgotten. Nor will he ever be. My heart broke when I heard the news of his passing. He was tragically taken far too early from us. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. May your fond memories bring you comfort during this difficult time. - Posted by: Sheree Yusishen (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2017
