Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGOPALJI LAL PANDEY Gopalji Lal Pandey, 94, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Northcrest Care Centre in Delta, BC. Although predeceased by his wife, Shanti Devi Pandey, in 1996, he leaves behind his children, Rajendra Pandey (Monique); Rajneesh Pandey (Neena); Rajiv Pandey (Neelam); Madhu Pandey (Vijay); and Shasi Tripathi (Arun); his twelve grandchildren; and his thirteen great-grandchildren across India and Canada. Gopalji spent his early years in his birth-city of Allahabad, India, working as an auditor. Upon the death of his father when Gopalji was only 18, he took the responsibility of raising, educating, and organizing the marriages of all his siblings: Ramji Lal Pandey, Hem Lata, and Prem Lata. Gopalji moved to Winnipeg, Canada in 1983 to support his children with their lives and business ventures. During these years in Winnipeg, Gopalji was one of one of the founders of the Hindu Seniors Centre of Manitoba. He also started his own successful internet business without any prior knowledge of computers. In 1996, Gopalji moved to Vancouver. Despite his retirement, he continued to teach yoga, practice ayurvedic medicine, conduct poojas, paint, and help and meet members of the local community. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Valleyview Funeral Home & Cemetery on 14644 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC. A Shanti Path for Late Shri Gopalji Pandey will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Hindu Temple and Dr. Raj Pandey Hindu Centre, 999 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by Preeti Bhoj.

Raj and Monique, we are so sorry to hear of your loss of Gopal. I learned a lot from working with hi for those few years. His influence in his communities will be missed.
