DOROTHY MARY OLSON (nee LOUGHEED) On Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Winnipeg, MB, Dorothy Olson passed away at the age of 96. Remaining behind to remember her are, son Clifford; daughter Carol; grandchildren, Mark, Tara, Melody, and Devon; plus a number of special nephews and nieces, extended family members and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ruben (Olie) in 1987; brothers, Lorne, Clifford, Alan, Bernard and Arthur; sister Donna (Robinson) her husband Harvey, sister- in-law Pearl (wife of Bernard) and grandson, Alan. The daughter of Wilbert and Annie (McPherson) Lougheed, Dorothy was born at Foxwarren, MB, March 10, 1920. She completed her schooling at Foxwarren and then took a Business Administration course at the Angus School of Commerce in Winnipeg. She enlisted with the C.W.A.C. during the Second World War. In 1946 she married Ruben Olson of Birtle, MB where they resided until 1970 when they moved to Winnipeg. She was employed with the office of the Rural Municipality of Birtle for 14 years. During her retirement years Dorothy enjoyed lawn bowling in the summers at the Vimy Park Lawn Bowling Club. She also enjoyed five pin bowling at the Polo Park Lanes. She enjoyed several trips to the West Coast spending time with her family members. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Also as per her wishes, No Memorial Service will be held at this time. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date in the cemetery at Birtle, MB. Flowers gratefully declined. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of The Poseidon Care Home in Winnipeg, MB for their excellent care for Mom Forever in our Hearts
