JEAN IRENE MANZ (nee HEHN) 1921 - 2017 After a long and healthy life of 95 years Jean Manz left to be with her Lord on February 20. Jean passed away quietly and peacefully in Kelowna, BC where she lived since 2001. Jean was born on May 21, 1921 to John and Eva Hehn in Markinch, Saskatchewan where her father farmed, and was the oldest of three girls. Jean was predeceased by her husband Sieg in 1987, her sister Ruth in 1994 and is survived by her daughter Jane Eisbrenner of Toronto, sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Dick Kinzel of Regina, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Violet and Paul Ritter of Southey, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to family, Bryce and Sylvia Zorn have been dedicated friends and caregivers in the last few years. Jean was a school teacher and married Sieg Manz in 1945. Together they built a life in Regina, Saskatchewan and welcomed Jane to their family. Jean actively served in the church leading the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. As a hobbiest she enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, gardening and entertaining. In 1981 they moved to Winnipeg to be close to their daughter and developed many more wonderful friendships. Jean returned to Regina in 1993. Jean and Sieg always intended on retiring in the Okanagan and Jean has lived in Kelowna for the last 15 years. Jean loved the Lord and faithfully served Him throughout her life. A celebration will be held at First Lutheran Church, 4091 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, BC at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
