Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA E. MASSEY (nee SAGERT) June 24, 1921 - February 3, 2017 Peacefully on February 3, 2017 Erna Massey passed away at Middlechurch Personal Care Home. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Dianne, son Glen (Lynn), grandchildren Brenda (Darryl), David (Diane), Dawn (Corey), Erin (Darryl), and Jena (Jon), daughter-in-law Lesley, great-grandchildren, Kylie, Codey, Carly (Rainey), Ryan, Avery, Riley, Deven, Tayler, Laura (Ross), Blake, Jared, Elliott, and Addisyn, and great-great-grandchild Kolby. She was predeceased by her husband Edward (1971), son Dennis (2002), parents Michael and Tilly, brothers Arnold, Roy, Albert, and Leonard, and sisters Alma and Clara. Mom was born and raised on a farm in Morden, MB along with her four brothers, and two sisters. She married Dad in 1942 and together they farmed in Blackdale, MB until Dad's passing. After the farm was sold, Mom moved to a house in Transcona. She took great pride in her home, yard, and rose garden. She enjoyed shopping and outings with her best friends, Peggy and Valerie. Mom spent many years playing baseball with the Transcona ladies' slo-pitch league (Panthers). She was so proud of her trophies which came with her to the personal care home. Mom also curled and bowled. She volunteered for Park Manor, helping with bingo, outings, BBQ's, and picnics. She also helped with Meals on Wheels for many years. Mom enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Nashville, Florida, cruises, and outings to Grand Forks. She enjoyed going to family breakfasts, and special holiday dinners. After Mom sold her house on Dowling Avenue East, she moved to assisted living in Devonshire House. She was into her eighth year there, when her health required more assistance, and her new home became Middlechurch Personal Care. Thank you to Mom's neighbours, staff and home care providers at assisted living and personal care home, for being so kind and caring. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a memorial donation may be made to the charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts and memories. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. CHAPEL LAWN www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715
