JORDAN LEE BARKMAN March 7, 1991 - February 20, 2017 It is with grieving hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Jordan Barkman. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Brian and Wanda Barkman, brother Brent Barkman, sister Chelsea Church (Ryan), and his little princess, Brynn, who absolutely adored her Uncle J. He also leaves behind a great many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly, and who shared so many wonderful memories. Jordan was known for his mischievous sense of humour, his giving personality, and his tenacious spirit. He was a fun-loving jokester with movie star dimples and signature ear-to-ear grin, whose compassion and desire to help those in need were a defining part of Jordan's life. He loved purely and deeply, and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for the people he cared about. He was a truly beautiful soul. Jordan's life spanned many chapters in many places - from his beginnings in Beausejour where he made life-long friends, to Texas where he excelled in his passions for football, band, hockey and professional kart racing, to his final chapter in Vancouver, the city he had always dreamed of living in, so close to the mountains. This final chapter was the perfect crescendo for Jord, who from a young age was naturally drawn to summiting every peak in front of him. As a child he climbed a 70 foot tower on the farm which no adult was brave enough to follow him up, and despite being the youngest sibling he always managed to be crowned "king of the hill" on the snow piles in Manitoba. As an adult he loved to capture the world below through the eyes of his drone, and took every opportunity to snowboard and hike up mountains in BC, Colorado, Switzerland, and Italy. No matter the climb Jordan would always reach the top, ascending so high above the rest of us. He did a lot of living in his 25 years. In true fashion Jordan has outdone himself, and is looking down upon us now from the highest peak of all, in heaven, with that genuine, joyous smile. We love you so much, Jord and cannot wait to be by your side again. Jordan's Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour. In lieu of flowers and in Jordan's spirit of helping others, donations can be made to the Associated Community Living, Beausejour Branch, where Jordan worked as a young man. The family would appreciate any memories, stories and photos of Jordan to be shared at JordanBarkman.ForeverMissed.com
