JEANNINE PAILLE Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake, Jeannine Paillé passed away on February 23, 2017. She was preceded by her dear partner, Georges Savoie (2015), her sister Annette Boulet (1998) and her brothers, Albert (1951), Jean-Emile (2010) and Maurice (2013). She is survived by her youngest sister, Georgette of Victoriaville, Quebec. On November 20, 2016, she celebrated her 86th birthday with her close friends, neighbours and niece. She loved to entertain in her home and appreciated all those who recently visited her. Jeannine grew up in St. Norbert and St. Boniface, Manitoba in a family of six children. She lost her brother Albert in the Korean War in 1951. The love, caring for others and generosity were strong family traits. She leaves many nieces and nephews from across Canada, and her life-long, childhood friend Dorothy (Scott Davison) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jeannine entered the Sister's of the Holy Name of Jesus Mary at the age of 18 years where she studied to be a teacher at the University of Manitoba. In 1972, Jeannine left the order and continued her teaching in Kingston in various Catholic schools including Wolfe Island and Harrowsmith. She shared her love of the arts and the French language with many youth. She was a kind and generous friend and aunt. She always had an empathic ear for those in need and demonstrated unconditional, positive regard to everyone. During her retirement, she volunteered at St. Mary's of the Lake. This is where a special connection with her dear friend Jean Purvis took place. She enjoyed travelling with Georges and her friends. She was witty, enjoyed laughing and lived life to the fullest, always thankful for what life provided her. She will be deeply missed by all those whom she touched. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Winnipeg, Manitoba where her ashes will be interred. If desired, donations may be made to the Kingston - Frontenac Council on Aging, 1786 Bath Rd., Kingston, ON K7M 4Y2.
