Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEA GROLL (WIEGAND) April 17, 1930 - February 23, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Thea on February 23 at the age of 86. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Adalbert (Bert), sons Douglas (Karen), Calvin (Christine), Ross (Katherine), and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Jeffery, and her parents Joseph and Erna. Mom immigrated to Canada from Germany, following Dad in 1955. They married and eventually settled in Transcona where they resided for 52 years. Raising four sons, Mom was always hard working, unselfish, loving and caring. She had a great love for long walks and caring for her garden. She will be greatly missed. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held.

I knew of Mrs. Groll for quite a few years growing up. My parents spent time with the Groll's and as a kid I spent time getting in all sorts of trouble with Ross and Calvin. I always knew Mrs. Groll to be a good mum to their family and whenever I would spend time over there she'd always force us to eat(haha-that's got to be a German thing). The Groll's was always a good place to spend time!
