BRUCE GRANVILLE MASSEY It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Bruce Massey on February 27, 2017 at age 83. Left to cherish his memory is his partner of 16 years, Vicky Varga; his sons Lawrence "Rusty" Massey and Glenn (Annette) Massey; grandchildren Ian (Kyla), Cheryl, Keith and Ryan Massey; great-grandchildren Trinity and Faith Massey. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother Ralph (Nia) Massey and his loving family, as well as many extended friends and family. Bruce was predeceased by his parents John "Jack" and Doris (Pitcher) Massey; his wife of 33 years, Louise (Utsunomiya) Massey, and stepmother Hilda (Elcombe) Massey. Bruce dedicated his working life to the Canadian National Railway for 37 years as a carman in Transcona. He proudly served with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves for 26 years. An avid outdoorsman; Bruce loved to fish, hunt and enjoyed camping. He was quite the photographer - winning many awards, as well had a passion as a HAM radio operator with the Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club. VE4GR SK (final call) 73's. Bruce's family sends their gratitude to Concordia Hospital for their great care and compassion. Those who wish may make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Canadian Celiac Association. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., care of Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street.
