Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNANCY FAINTUCK (nee SMEREK) It is with great sadness that the family of Nancy Betty Faintuck announces her sudden and unexpected passing, at home, on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Nancy was born on December 9, 1941 and spent her entire life in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Elsie Smerek, her husband Gerry Faintuck, and her partner Gord Rasmussen. Nancy is survived by her brother Ken (Sonny) and wife Sandra, her nephew Tyler and partner Cassie, Gerry's sister Bev in San Francisco, Gord's brother and sister-in-law Ken and Joanne, his sister Dianne Ewaschuk, his sister-in-law Diana, Gord's daughter Kisha and their families, many other family and friends throughout Canada and the U.S., and her precious little puppy "Herbie" who is so very sad and misses her dearly. Nancy spent most of her early years in the North End where she had many friends she has remained close to. She later moved to East Kildonan with her family. Nancy attended Aberdeen School and St. John's High School. Nancy started her career at Canadian News and after a few years, moved on to Air Canada where she remained until her retirement. While there she cultivated many lasting friendships. Nancy loved to travel, read, sew and took great pride in the many beautiful crafts she created. She was a great lover of animals and nature, and spent many hours feeding the birds and squirrels and other animals that wandered into her yard. She lovingly tended her yard and walked her beloved dogs daily. In keeping with Nancy's wishes, there will be no service. Her ashes will be placed in Winnipeg and Hawaii where she loved to spend her holiday time for many years. Thomson "In the Park" is in care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nancy's memory should be sent to the animal shelter of your choice. Nancy will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

I am so very sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. My husband Garth & I own The Little Dog House where Herbie spent every Thursday afternoon with us. Nancy absolutely doted on him, and he loved her. He must be so upset. I am so sorry for your loss, she was such a lovely lady. All of us at the daycare are extremely upset to hear of her passing. I am wondering if any help is needed finding a new home for Herbie, or if family is keeping him. If anyone could kindly let us know, we'd love to hear how Herbie is doing. Our sincere condolences, Garth & Lee WIlcox, Lisa McCaffrey & Brenda Ross from The Little Dog House - Posted by: Lee Wilcox (Business Relationship) on: Mar 09, 2017

Nancy was my lead clerk and co-worker at Air Canada for many years. I also had the pleasure of visiting Nancy's home, wandering through her garden and meeting her dogs. As a dog lover myself I loved hearing about her puppies. I actually smuggled my new puppy into the office one day and Nancy was the first one I showed. I was lucky enough to see Nancy a few times over the years at Air Canada functions or get-togethers. She will be missed and thought of often. - Posted by: Debbie Bryce (Air Canada co-worker) on: Mar 07, 2017

Nancy, my sister, Betti and myself Gerri grew up a block apart but over the years went our separate ways until the past few years. We all went to a few of Judi and my birthdays and sometimes lunch. Judi and Nancy after so many years became very close friends and now will miss her dearly. My sincere condolences to you Ken and your family and your loss as Nancy will be missed. - Posted by: Gerri (Yurchak) Page (friend) on: Mar 04, 2017
