ROBERT (BOB) WILLIAM DUNIK Peacefully, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, Bob passed away at the age of 74 at Victoria General Hospital. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 47 years, Karen; son Bradley Dunik; daughter Jennifer Dunik (Jason Wolkowski); and beloved grandchildren, Samantha and Cody Dunik, and Lucas and Vienna Wolkowski. He also leaves his niece Janice Bridle (Jim); nephew Darrell Jackson, and many extended family members and dear friends. Bob was born on April 20, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He married the absolute love of his life, Karen, on May 10, 1969. Bob and Karen lived in the same St. Vital home for 40 years, surrounded by wonderful, caring neighbours and friends. Bob worked for a number of federal government departments, including Supply and Services, Parks Canada, and Veterans Affairs. Bob was a witty, smart, incredibly resilient individual who loved music, travel, old movies, sweets, science, and he had a great curiosity about life. He was also a sports enthusiast. He loved his family deeply and was always willing to offer his wisdom, support, and encouragement. Our family wishes to thank all of the staff in the ICU and on G5 at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. At Bob's request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be planned.
