Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNETTE LEJEUNE (nee BOULIC) Peacefully, on March 5, 2017, Annette Lejeune passed away at Actionmarguerite-St. Boniface at the age of 97 years. Annette is lovingly remembered by daughters, Laurence Olinkin (Jack); Charlotte Lavallée (Ron); Viviane Leonard (Richard); daughter-in-law Astrid De Bruyn; grandchildren, Chantal Oleschuk (Richard); Natalie Leonard; Jaqueline Shortridge (Nolan); great-grandchildren, Rachel, Melanie and Erika Oleschuk and Avery and Brendan Shortridge; sister Lina Guéret (Raymond), sister-in-law Hélène Lejeune and numerous nieces and nephews. Annette was predeceased by her husband Marcel, her son Jean, parents Guillaume and Françoise Boulic; her brother Marcel Boulic and sisters, Alice Teffaine and Estelle Simon. Annette was born on November 11, 1919 in St. Lupicin, Manitoba. She attended school in the hamlet, where she made many dear and long-term friendships. When she married Marcel, they first established a farm in the area, only to settle later in the village of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. There she raised her family and became actively involved in the community, especially with the church and various women's groups. Annette was able to nurture her competitive spirit in a new-found sport...curling, in which she became adept and continued to enjoy as an observer into her nineties. Family was very important to Annette and she loved to provide. She gardened, sewed, canned and cooked marvellous meals, which her sons-in-law greatly appreciated. Like her mother, Annette knew how to make you feel welcome in her home. Freshly brewed coffee and a homemade pastry were a certainty. When Annette moved to Winnipeg, some of her activities lessened due to age, but the welcome mat never left her door. Surrounded by family in the city, Annette was able to visit with her sisters and parents more readily. Social activities included dancing, attending plays and most importantly, cards. Grandchildren were educated in competitive card playing where youth had no privilege...she played to win...and did. In her view there were no exceptions...everyone, any age, needed their lesson. Annette wanted the best for her family and will be long remembered for her love and continued devotion. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13 at Précieux-Sang Church, 200 Kenny Street. Private interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Actionmarguerite, who gave Annette extraordinary care for the last number of years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made Actionmarguerite-St. Boniface, 185 Despins Street, Wpg, MB R2H 2B3.
