She will be best remembered for her numerous cultural, ecological, historical and archaeological contributions to the Winnipeg community through her position as a Project officer with the H.R.D.C. Her greatest achievement being the River Road Parkway in St. Andrews, which involved the construction of park benches, walk ways and the renovation of the Captain Kennedy Tea House. An accomplished world traveler and talented artist - towards the end of her life, Shirley found great pleasure in creating many beautiful works of art and acting as a spiritual advisor to her close friends and family. She is survived by her beloved husband Brian, mother Iris, brothers Tim and Kelvin, and numerous nieces and nephews. We love you Shirley, and we will forever hold the flames of your passion in our hearts.

Shirley , to this day I have so many fond memories of our friendship and all those days we worked together . I remember the project you took over for me and this is when you met the love of your life, Brian. I have the Birthday book you made for me when I turned forty, filled with all my entrepreneurial ideas, thanks for the many days at coffee break you listened to me. I have your earrings and necklaces you created , it was an honour to know you and have you as my friend. My condolences to Brian and all the family. Many hours spent making river clay creations and scouting the neighbourhood for new adventures. You never forget the friends growing up that shaped who you are today. Thank you Shirley. - Posted by: Myra Kuhl (Castelein) (Childhood friend ) on: Mar 15, 2017
