JAMIE (JAMES) EDWARD DEVINE Jamie, beloved spouse, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, died in North Vancouver on March 1, 2017. He had made North Vancouver his home for almost four decades after he met his life partner, Debbie Barlow, there and became "her guy" shortly after his arrival. Jamie was born in Winnipeg to Jim Devine and wife Rosemary on May 22, 1958. Both his father Jim and his brother Dan predeceased him. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Debbie, his mother Rosemary, and siblings Susan (Robb Tonn), Ginny (Gary Doer), Lorne, John (Rena) of Red Deer, and Kevin (Tanya). Jamie's dry wit and unassuming nature will be sorely missed as well by his mother-in-law Karen, sisters-in-law, Deanna (Jim) and Tanya, and brother-in-law Rory (Stephanie), all of North Vancouver. Uncle Jamie was also a favourite with, and cherished, his numerous nieces and nephews and their children from both his Winnipeg family and his North Vancouver family. They will also feel his loss acutely. A celebration of Jamie's life will take place on Saturday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rossmere Golf and Country Club, 925 Watt St. West in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jamie to B.C. Cancer Agency, Vancouver Centre, 600 West 10th Ave., 4th floor, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4E6, or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermott Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.

Jamie was part of a group of us that lived in the old Abbot House in Vancouvers West End. So many good times and great laughs. Eventually, everyone moved on in different directions, but I think we all remember. Rest easy my old friend. - Posted by: Suzie Q (Old friend) on: Feb 22, 2022

I grew up with Jamie and spent much of my childhood as a friend of his in and out of school. St. Gerard's and St. Boniface D. High. I have great memories of him and his wonderful family on Fleming Ave. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers for all of his family. He was a good guy and though we did not keep in touch after the school years I can always look back in fondness to those early years of our youth. God Bless you my old friend and may the Lord keep you always and to your family I ask for the same. - Posted by: Brian Wolfe () on: Apr 29, 2017
