BRIGITTE ORISE HEBERT (DESROCHERS) With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brigitte Orise Hebert on March 3, 2017 at the Dauphin Hospital, with her common-law husband, Gil, at her side, losing her courageous battle with cancer at the age of 69. Brigitte was born at her home in St. Eustache, MB, June 29, 1947 and grew up on the farm. She attended Baie St. Paul East and St. Eustache Schools, graduating from St. Paul Collegiate in Elie. In 1966 she went into training at the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg and the Manitoba Institute of Technology, graduating as a Radiology Technician in 1968. "Babe" (as she is known by her family) then worked in Calgary. In 1989 she moved to The Pas, Manitoba to work at the hospital and that is when she met Gil; they were together for 28 years. She retired in 2009 from the Ste. Anne Hospital. Gil and Brigitte lived on the shore of beautiful Clearwater Lake in Manitoba where she tended to her flowers, yard, boating and spending time with friends. Over the years they had moved several times to her latest being in St. Rose du Lac. It was here that they enjoyed spending time at their summer cabin on the Waterhen River while enjoying retirement. They also enjoyed vacationing in Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela staying in Yuma during the winter months. Left to cherish her memory, her common-law husband, Gil, son Duane, stepdaughters, Shellie, Denise and Jacqueline, 13 grandchildren, sisters, Ilene and Carole, brother Ulysses, plus many cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Alexander and Aurea Desrochers, sister Leona, and brother Donald. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Her ashes will be interred at a later date. In lieu of cards and flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Manitoba Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
